Jewelry Insider~What Everyone Wants to Know About Prices~
Hello
I'm Akko, Radian's blog manager 👑
Thank you for always reading
Thank you very much for the many inquiries to our Instagram Story the other day
We received a lot of questions about “Comparisons between other companies and Radian”
I will share more about this at a later date
And this video 👇 was a question from a follower
They asked, “Other companies are much cheaper,”
so this was one example we shared for reference.
If this is what they call VVS1
There's honestly nothing to criticize
To put it nicely, it's delicate-looking
but in reality it's paper-thin, and the metal base is so thin it's depressing 😫
No need to explain the WHY? behind the price difference, right
About 20 years ago when I first became interested in jewelry, the price of gold was just over 1,000 yen per 100 g ☘️
It gradually rose, and by around 2010 it exceeded 3,000 yen per 100 g 🤣
Even back then, the finished products were becoming very delicate-looking,
and while they looked beautiful, when you held them you couldn't help but think,
“That's light!” — such items began to increase
When I asked suppliers, “Why is it so light?” they said,
“It can't be helped — gold prices are up, so if we want to keep prices reasonable we have to reduce the amount of metal.”
“On the contrary, setting small melee diamonds on the band might be cheaper to finish.”
I remember being told things like that.
That conversation was about 10 years ago
Base metal prices kept rising, and as of 2022 they've exceeded 8,000 yen per 100 g‼️
Nowadays 'light' is the norm.
There are more 14K and 10K pieces. In some cases, even items using diamonds are being made in silver 🤦♀️ — a desperate measure 💦
As a consumer, I sincerely hope gold prices stop rising 🙏
Recently there's also news that palladium — used to strengthen and adjust the color of white gold and platinum — has risen dramatically 👀
About 40% of the world's palladium supply was reportedly from Russia
so it's become harder for developed countries to procure palladium.
I'm a little concerned that prices may continue to rise...
Now, I'll touch a bit on Radian's products 💎
First, a solid sense of weight ⭐️
Even when checking a ring finished the other day,
people commented, “There's plenty of metal — it feels heavy.”
It may be a matter of taste, but when solid metal is used, of course it doesn't look cheap
For jewelry, the construction of the metal parts is extremely important
Whether it looks tacky or stylish,
whether it seems cheap or luxurious
is determined by the metal work
When worn, or taken off and handed to someone, the point that lets others understand it's lovely is here✨✨✨ (This is actually pretty important!)
We don't know how gold will move in the future, but just before gold reached 3,000 yen in 2010 there was the Lehman Shock in 2008
At that time, while stock prices fell by 43.4%, gold rose by 14.3% 👍
I'm not saying to invest in gold, but if you're going to think about value anyway,
enjoy your days wearing Radian jewelry and don't waste your money✨
Thinking that makes me a little excited 🤍🤍
Despite how the world is now,
please enjoy shopping and make the most of the present 😊
