Akoya pearls also come in a wide range of qualities and prices.
The highest-grade pearls are called Hanadama pearls. 🤍

The nacre layer is made of conchiolin（protein） and calcium carbonate crystals and when those parts are arranged regularly more light is reflected and the luster improves

Small scratches may not be noticeable and some designs can hide them but you can't hide the luster that's why luster is important‼️
It's easy to pick out pearls that lack luster, but from among pearls that have luster to identify even slightly better pearls is extremely difficult🤦♀️
