Risks of flea market apps Can you trust that seller?

Hello 😊

I'm Akko, in charge of the Radian blog 🌈

Recently there was a Moissanite listing on Mercari that surprised me, so I'll share it with you

Directly imported from the mine

It was written like that, and I thought, "What?! 😱 What kind of mine produces Moissanite?
Do mines have labs?"

It made me want to leave a question as a comment.
I've seen so many careless shops proliferating on Mercari and Instagram,
and owner Aya and I were talking about what a serious problem this is...

Natural Moissanite is incredibly rare on this planet.
It's not from mines — it's originally found in meteorites 💎
However, Moissanite that was contained in meteorites is not something that is sold.

Most likely, the Moissanite being sold as jewelry is lab-created 💍

This seller doesn't seem to be a Moissanite specialty shop but rather an ordinary person.

On Mercari, many people who appear to be businesses actually know nothing about Moissanite and are selling it anyway 🙅‍♀️

The product photos show the Moissanite as stark white, and the way it reflects light... you understand what I mean, right?

And yet they claim "highest grade" and "D color."
These catchphrases have been used by many stores since we first started, so most listings end up written the same way.

I'm guessing this is listed on Mercari, and perhaps the seller copied the wording from when they purchased it.

I can't help but wonder how anyone can write such things. Ordinary customers might read and believe this text, and because the Radian team is earnestly and sincerely committed to genuine Moissanite,

it makes us feel very sad 😢

Changing the subject a bit,

Have you noticed that high-brand items are frequently featured in magazines aimed at people in their twenties?
I thought, "Are young people becoming independent and wealthy?" but that's not necessarily the case.

It seems more people are buying quality items with the premise of reusing them via flea market apps, so they shop with resale in mind 👗

If that's the case, a 100,000-yen item that can be resold for 50,000 yen effectively costs 50,000 yen,

and in some cases it may even gain a premium and sell for 150,000 yen, turning into a profit — smart! 😍
That's why high-brand items appear in youth magazines and often sell ✨

I think it's great to use flea market apps to circulate goods and money 👌

However, among those selling via flea market apps, far too many focus only on selling, try to appear like businesses, and state things that aren't true!
The number of cases where customers consult our shop about such harm has been skyrocketing
😫

To the point that owner Aya becomes exhausted.
"Cheap and poor quality" would be so sad 😭

Before purchasing, we hope you'll remember, "Radian mentioned something like this~"

If you wonder, "Is this okay?" please feel free to ask Radian first — that's perfectly fine — so contact us.

Wishing you wonderful shopping experiences at all times ❤️
