Irresistibly beautiful translucence 【ステップカット】
Hello
Akko here, Radian's blog editor 🦋
It's March now.
It's been a year since I started writing the blog 😊
Time really flies, doesn't it?
I'm so happy to receive messages saying you enjoy reading it 🥰
I will continue to share about moissanite, jewelry, and Radian, so thank you for your support 🫶

Now, this time I'll introduce a gemstone cut called the step cut 💙
What is the step cut?
The gem's outline is shaped into a square or another quadrilateral, and the sides are cut so that, when viewed from the side, they appear stepped (like steps).
Types of step cuts include
★ Emerald cut
★ Baguette cut
★ Asscher cut
and others
I think the most famous of the step cuts is the emerald cut ☘️
Natural emeralds often have inclusions
and tend to chip during cutting, so
to prevent damage the top surface is cut into a rectangle, the corners are beveled to form an octagon, and the sides are cut into stepped facets

And another one I'd like to introduce is the Asscher cut🍀
The Asscher cut features a square top surface and the sides are cut into step-like facets symmetrically on both sides.

Step cuts don't have the sparkle of brilliant cuts
but they have an elegant glow 🫧
A characteristic of this cut is that inclusions and color are clearly visible, so the stone's quality becomes important.
Furthermore, because the side facets are visible from above, the craftsman's skill is also important 🌟

As we've mentioned before,
we take pride in Radian's moissanites — their clarity and color are second to none.
In addition, the cutters who cut our in-house products are craftsmen who have passed the strict inspection of our owner Aya.
That's why we believe Radian can offer top-quality step-cut products 💫
We'll also be featuring them on Instagram next time — I'll introduce our latest step-cut pieces then ✨
